Eating Asphalt (2026)
Eating Asphalt is a play about a play in development called Eating Asphalt, a theatrical work created in the present by Bay Area poets and artists Lindsey Boldt, Elias Gonzalez, Willow Wilderness Hour, Steve Orth, and Selby Sohn. When these artists gather at an artist residency (both real & imagined) to develop a play about a fictional dinner (while eating dinner for real)—what happens? Does a play get written? Does the line between reality and artifice start to slip? Will they be able to tell the difference between food and prop? Eating Asphalt is a modern play for modern audiences who want their worlds blurred and their asphalt well-cooked.
