LIGHT, LAUGHTER, AND APPLAUSE

A performance at 500 Capp Street with Erin Desmond

I walk in and climb on top of a step ladder. Erin and I are wearing the same outfit (a transparent white robe). Erin presses a button on my chest, which emits light as I lift my arms. On either side of me are light-up signs that say LAUGHTER and APPLAUSE. Erin alternates turning the signs on and off, encouraging the audience to either laugh or applaud, or both, moving between the signs faster and faster as time passes.
